About Dawn Sakamoto, LCSW

Dawn Sakamoto, LCSW, is a social worker at CommonSpirit Primary Care St. Francis Hospital. Her philosophy is rooted in empathy, respect, and a deep commitment to social justice. Dawn earned her undergraduate degree in Social Work from St. Joseph University in West Hartford, CT, and her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Denver with a Trauma Certificate, both with Cum Laude honors. She is trained in Advanced and Enhanced Acceleration Resolution Therapy, primarily used for PTSD. Her other areas of training include Solution Focused Therapy, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, and Somatic work.

Outside of her practice, Dawn loves to spend time with her husband and their Boston Terrier, read and visit bookstores, travel, and attempt to be crafty.
