About Kajal Rao, MD

Dr. Rao joined Colorado Kidney Care in the fall of 2014 after moving to Denver with her family from Chicago, where she held a private practice position for two years. Dr. Rao grew up in North Carolina and attended medical school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Upon graduation, she relocated to Boston where she completed her residency at Tufts Medical Center. Discovering her deep interest in all things kidney-related, Dr. Rao made the decision to specialize in nephrology and subsequently completed her nephrology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. While in her fellowship, she was actively involved in clinical research of Lupus Nephritis. Her clinical interests continue to focus on all aspects of kidney disease and hypertension. The cornerstone of Dr. Rao's practice is her belief that patient awareness and strong communication are essential building blocks for a solid patient-physician relationship.
Since settling into Denver, she and her family have and continue to enjoy the great outdoors.
