About Kian Modanlou, MD
Kian Modanlou, MD, is a general surgeon whose expertise lies within complex liver, bile duct and pancreatic surgeries with an emphasis on minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Modanlou believes in a multidisciplinary approach to treating his patients. His goal is to deliver best-in-class care while ensuring that every patient thoroughly understands and participates in their treatment plan. Dr. Modanlou’s skillset is geared towards minimally invasive techniques, such as robotics, which offers high quality care with a successful and faster recovery. For post-operative care, he uses a multi-prong approach for pain relief that will decrease and often eliminate the need for narcotics.
Dr. Modanlou received his undergraduate degree from Duke University. He went on to earn his medical degree from the University of California Davis and completed his general surgery residency at the University of Colorado Denver. Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Colorado Denver. He also earned his fellowship in transplant and hepatobiliary surgery at Northwestern University.
Dr. Modanlou is married with two active sons. He and his family enjoy all that Colorado has to offer including skiing, cycling and paddle boarding. During his downtime, he enjoys cooking and traveling.
