About Rakesh Khosla, MD

Dr. Rocky Khosla is well-known in Pueblo and throughout southern Colorado through his family practice and his personal involvement in sports and other activities in the community. Most recently, St. Mary-Corwin celebrated when Dr. Khosla agreed to share his passion and commitment to sports medicine as the Medical Director of Concussion Consultants at CommonSpirit. He is designated as Certified IMPACT Consultant and is one of just 312 board-certified family medicine physicians with a Certificate of Added Quality in Sports Medicine to pass the inaugural Certificate of Added Qualification in Brain Injury Medicine test in 2014. The certification supports cutting edge recommendations regarding the proper diagnosis and management of sports concussions.

Not only is Dr. Khosla a graduate of the Southern Colorado Family Medicine Family Practice Residency program at St. Mary-Corwin, but he has continued to serve on the faculty as Director of the Sports Medicine Tract of training for the physician residents.

Dr. Khosla received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Microbiology, graduating Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California at Los Angeles. He then received his Medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine before entering the Southern Colorado Family Medicine residency program. Dr. Khosla has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine.

His interest in sports medicine has kept him busy serving as medical staff for the Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii, the Colorado State Games, Colorado Special Olympics, Bambino World Series, the U.S. Olympic Committee and at Monarch Ski Area.

In his spare time Dr. Khosla enjoys long distance running, triathlons, downhill skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, digital photography and spending time with his family.

Ratings

Ratings are calculated via patient surveys collected from the Medical Practice survey from Press Ganey using the Mean score for each of the four questions shown below. Star scores are determined by dividing the mean score by 20 so a 100% Mean score divided into 5ths results in a 5 star rating.
