About Scott Stanley, MD
Dr. Scott Stanley believes every patient has a story. “And, if you listen carefully enough, they’ll guide you to a diagnosis,” he says.
That willingness to listen has helped make Dr. Stanley, who is board-certified in orthopedic surgery, one of Colorado’s leading spine surgeons. Dr. Stanley and the Spine Care Program team brought the Mazor Renaissance Guidance System to Parker Adventist Hospital, which became the first in the Rocky Mountain region to offer this advanced robot-assisted surgical technology. The technology provides surgeons a 3D image of the surgery area, providing more precise surgery planning and execution.
While a lot of surgeons do great work with the tools they are given, Dr. Stanley also has a talent for making those tools better. He holds multiple U.S. and international patents in spinal implant design.
Dr. Stanley, who grew up on a farm in Illinois, credits his grandfather with instilling in him an appreciation for education, lifelong learning, and service. Dr. Stanley is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of the North American Spine Society. He also has received the Parker Adventist Hospital Humanitarian Award for his volunteer work in Inner Mongolia to treat underserved patients.
To Dr. Stanley, treating patients is a sacred trust, and he considers himself “humbled and blessed” to have that opportunity. “At the end of the day, if you can change somebody’s life, that’s what gives me immense satisfaction.”
