COVID-19 spreads by getting into our noses and mouths. To help prevent the spread of the virus, the CDC has recommended wearing face coverings, like cloth masks, when we leave our homes for essential tasks like grocery shopping. Some people are also taking the extra precaution of wearing gloves in public spaces.
However, masks and gloves don’t protect against the spread of illness if they aren’t used properly. In the video below, Tiffany Castelitz, an experienced nurse manager at Centura Emergency & Urgent Care, demonstrates just how easy it can be for viruses to spread – and how to properly put on and remove masks and gloves in order to protect yourself and those around you.
