(DURANGO, COLO.) Centura Health has appointed Patrick Sharp, MBA, as Chief Executive Officer for Mercy Regional Medical Center. Patrick will join Mercy’s healing ministry on Jan. 25, 2021.

“Patrick’s excitement to serve the Centura Health ministry and support the caregivers of Mercy Regional will contribute to the legacy of compassionate care provided in our community,” said Richard Miller, Board Chair, Mercy Regional Medical Center Community Board of Trustees. “Patrick brings a wealth of experience, strong leadership and a passion for caring for the whole person.”

As CEO of Mercy Regional Medical Center, Patrick will cultivate strong, trusting relationships with Mercy’s Community Board of Trustees, associates, advanced practice providers, physicians and volunteers to impact the health and wholeness of every life, every neighbor and every community Mercy serves. He excels at relationship building and transparent communication and enjoys creating lasting personal connections. Patrick is on a mission to inspire others to flourish in a balanced life through faith, integrity, accountability, and the pursuit of knowledge.

Prior to joining Centura, Patrick served as President & CEO of Fairview Range Regional Medical Center in Hibbing, MN, where he was responsible for the leadership, strategic planning and operation of the licensed 175-bed hospital, as well as primary and specialty care clinics and home health and hospice services. During his tenure with Fairview Range, Patrick also held the senior leadership positions of Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Clinic Operations and Radiation Therapy, supporting operations and strategic initiatives in both inpatient and ambulatory settings. Prior to Fairview Range, Patrick served in regulatory compliance roles for Beckman Coulter, St. Jude Medical and Boston Scientific.

“I am humbled to have been chosen as the next CEO of Mercy Regional Medical Center,” said Sharp. “I have been impressed with the people I have met, and I look forward to working with the staff, health care providers and Mercy’s Board of Trustees in fulfilling the organization’s Mission.”

Patrick received a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and a Master of Business Administration from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN. He is a member of the Minnesota Hospital Association’s Policy & Advocacy Committee and previously served on the board of the Hibbing Community College Foundation. To help strengthen both his faith and leadership skills, Patrick is currently pursuing his master’s degree in theology with an emphasis in philosophy.
