Clinical Pastoral Education
Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) through Centura Health is an innovative and transformative model for spiritual care education that draws students from all over the world. The Centura Health CPE program offers Level I, Level II and Supervisory CPE in both year-long CPE residency opportunities as well as single unit CPE internships.
The CPE campus location, St. Anthony Hospital, is a Level I Trauma Center that includes Flight For Life® Colorado, the first air-medical transport program in the country, serving a nine-state region. Our program offers clinical experience in trauma, emergency, medical surgical units, ICU, patient rehabilitation, and palliative care.
Through clinical reflection on patient care, group peer consultation and individual supervision, students learn the art of mediating compassion for patients and loved ones in the here-and-now moments of crisis, transition and loss. Chaplain residents and interns are an integrated part of the spiritual care team and often take on leadership roles in the department. Centura Health’s CPE program is open to religious leaders, health care professionals, physicians and lay persons.
