Accreditation

Southwest Oncology and Durango Cancer Center are integrated into the statewide Centura Health Cancer Network, the largest network of cancer clinics, services and providers in Colorado.

Through leading-edge technology and capabilities, the network brings comprehensive care including diagnostics, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, access to clinical trials, dedicated cancer inpatient care, nurse navigation, genetic counseling, spiritual support, social work services, support groups, cancer prevention and screening programs, palliative care, hospice services, survivorship programs, and unique patient-centered programs that support patients and their families during treatment. The Centura Health Cancer Network is comprised of six hospital-based cancer programs—including Mercy Regional Medical Center—that are accredited by the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) Commission on Cancer.

  • American College of Surgeons (ACoS) Accreditation

Mercy Regional Medical Center's Cancer Services is an accredited program of the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) Commission on Cancer. Since 1996, the program has fulfilled the rigorous review of ACoS, most recently receiving Approval with Commendation in 2009. The achievement of these standards places the overall program in the top 20 percent nationwide and assures continued achievement of the highest levels of quality, self-assessment, and improvement on behalf of our patients. Integration with Centura Health provides additional support in terms of access to other specialists, research protocols, data analysis, and sharing of best practices.

  • Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) Accreditation

Mercy Regional Medical Center’s Southwest Oncology clinic is accredited by the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) Certification Program, an affiliate of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). The QOPI® Certification Program provides a three-year certification for outpatient hematology-oncology practices that meet the highest standards for quality cancer care. Southwest Oncology first received QOPI certification in 2010.
