The Emergency Department (ED) and Trauma Unit at Longmont United Hospital are open 24/7. The Emergency Department provides a dedicated team of physicians, physician assistants, nurses, emergency technicians, and specialists of every medical and surgical specialty to treat critically ill and injured patients. All practicing physicians in the emergency department are board certified in emergency medicine. The emergency department team also consists of other disciplines including social workers, psyche triage, discharge planning, chaplains and pharmacist.

    As a Primary Stroke Center, Longmont United Hospital has an acute stroke response team available around the clock. This team includes emergency medicine specialists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, radiologists, critical care specialists, nurses and radiology technicians. Together, they provide immediate and experienced stroke expertise to determine if the latest treatments—such as clot-busting medications—can benefit a stroke patient. Advanced imaging supports the interventions needed to open blocked arteries and restore blood flow as quickly as possible.

    The Longmont United Hospital neuroscience team comprised of neurologists, neurosurgeons, and interventional radiologists using the latest treatment protocols and state-of-the-art equipment to diagnose and develop personalized treatment plans for every patient. 

    Our neurologists offer comprehensive care in the treatment of nervous system disorders such as epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, stroke, brain aneurysms, brain AVMs, multiple sclerosis, and dementia.   • Inpatient Pediatrics & Birth Center

    When your child is experiencing health issues, you want them to have access to the best possible care. Centura Health and Children’s Hospital Colorado are working together to enhance the pediatric care provided in the communities we serve, and streamline care coordination between the two organizations to provide children and their families with the highest level of coordinated medical care as close to home as possible. Whether your child is a few months old, almost 18 or anywhere in between, our inpatient pediatric care units provide our younger patients with rooms that meet their needs. Children’s Hospital Colorado is proud to bring our pediatric expertise closer to home for families of Longmont and surrounding communities.

    Surgeons on the medical staff at Longmont United Hospital are using the da Vinci® Xi Surgical System, the latest model of the da Vinci® system. This robotic technology that allows them to perform complex procedures with small single-site incisions and far greater precision. While seated at a console next to the patient's bedside, the surgeon manipulates the da Vinci robot to address complex surgical cases with greater control and accuracy.

    Respiratory Therapy

    The Respiratory Therapy Department at Longmont United Hospital specializes in treating respiratory illnesses. Patients may visit the pulmonary function laboratory when their doctor orders a pulmonary function test (PFT) to rule out various forms of lung disease including pulmonary fibrosis, emphysema, COPD, asthma, chronic bronchitis, or progression of a disease, or to monitor possible medication side effects on the lungs. Testing includes spirometry, diffusion capacity, thoracic gas volume, lung volumes and airway resistance.

    Sleep Disorder Center

    The Longmont United Hospital Sleep Center facility is equipped with the most–advanced testing technology systems to meet patient sleep diagnostic needs. The Sleep Center is open weekdays and weekends for patient convenience. Our staff of Board-certified sleep specialists holds advanced training and certification in sleep medicine, and is dedicated to providing quality care through in-depth evaluations. All rooms are private and equipped with a queen-size Sleep Number® bed, a flat screen HDTV with cable, as well as wireless internet.

    AgeWell, an award-winning service of Longmont United Hospital, is the “go-to” resource for 55+ adults on how to stay healthy. The AgeWell team includes registered nurses and other wellness specialists who are ready to guide you to healthy choices through consults and referrals to classes, services, programs or other appropriate resources.

    Inpatient Rehabilitation

    Our physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists work as a team to develop a comprehensive care plan for each of our patients. Physicians, nurses and other medical professionals work closely with the physical medicine team to address the needs of the patient.
