    Genetic Counseling

    The Penrose Hereditary Cancer Service provides genetic counselors. These cancer genetic counselors specialize in educating individuals about inherited cancer risks. The genetic counselors at Penrose Hereditary Cancer Service are experts at family history assessment.  Personalized risks are estimated for each patient seen in our service, based on their medical and family histories.

    Outpatient Therapy

    Our outpatient therapy services include physical, occupational and speech therapy to help you recover and return to your active daily life. Our highly trained and skilled licensed therapists can help individuals recover and improve strength due to illness, injury or disability.

    Capron Neuro and Trauma Rehabilitation Center

    Our acute inpatient rehabilitation program offers an interdisciplinary approach to rehabilitation with trained professionals who work directly with patients and families to design a plan of care to meet each individual's particular condition and needs.

  • Health Learning Center

    The Penrose-St. Francis Health Learning Center in Colorado Springs provides education, counseling, and medical services to help prevent and treat chronic diseases and health issues in patients of all ages. We take a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to care by combining medical nutrition therapy, anticoagulation monitoring, diabetes care, and foot care in one convenient location. 

    Our experienced staff is passionate about offering personalized care and education tailored to each patient. We listen, educate, and provide compassionate medical services. We also collaborate with your physician to provide a continuum of care that will help you live life to the fullest. 

    Physician Referrals: We work closely with referring physicians to provide education and treatment for patients of all ages. A physician referral is required to ensure comprehensive services. 

    Insurance: The Health Learning Center accepts most major insurances, but we recommend confirming your coverage with your insurance provider before your first appointment.   

    Anticoagulation Clinic

    Our certified anticoagulation specialists help patients monitor and manage their warfarin (Coumadin®) regimen to prevent complications and hospitalizations. Our clinic offers testing with immediate results, dosage adjustments and education.

    Diabetes Care Clinic

    Individual counseling and group classes to help people with pre-diabetes and diabetes manage their blood sugar levels to reduce and prevent complications. Our certified diabetes educators work with your physician to develop a customized approach that includes diet, exercise and medication management that you can use to optimize your health. We work with all ages from children to seniors as well as women with gestational diabetes.



    Medical Nutrition Therapy

    Our registered dietitians provide Medical Nutrition Therapy to patients whose health has been impacted by injury, illness, or other condition. We also offer also offer group educational classes on sports nutrition, meal planning and preparation, portion distortion, nutritional supplements, and more.

    Behavioral Health

    Behavioral Health Programs at Penrose-St. Francis Health Services include drug and alcohol treatment programs, neuropsychological testing, dementia assessment, and outpatient counseling for children and adults of all ages.

    Critical Care Unit (CIU)

    The new state-of-the-art Critical Care Unit is now housed on the 2nd Floor of the E Tower at Penrose Hospital. The Critical Care Unit offers the best of recent technology and design to enhance and advance the care of our patients.


    This area specializes in diseases of the digestive tract (esophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas and small and large intestine or colon). Gastroenterologists, physicians with advanced training in digestive diseases, examine patients using endoscopes.
