    Primary Stroke Center

    St. Mary-Corwin's Stroke Center is dedicated to caring for patients who have experienced a stroke, as well as educating our communities on the warning signs and risk factors of stroke. With the Gold Seal of Approval for healthcare quality from The Joint Commission, the Stroke Center certification acknowledges the high quality of care for acute stroke provided by St. Mary-Corwin in southern Colorado. St. Mary-Corwin's stroke program has been certified by The Joint Commission since 2006.

    Inpatient Stroke Rehabilitation

    Located on the fourth floor of St. Mary-Corwin, the rehab unit provides a safe environment with onsite access to consulting physicians, diagnostic procedures, specialized treatments and emergency care. This specialty unit provides inpatient rehabilitation care to meet the specialized needs of patients recovering from strokes, spinal cord injuries, neurologic disorders, multiple trauma and other complex orthopedic and medical conditions.

    Our team of professionals specializing in rehabilitation services work together to provide patients and their families with the support needed to meet their medical, physical, emotional and spiritual needs.     Ambulatory Infusion Center at Dorcy Cancer Center

    The Ambulatory Infusion Center (AIC) in the Dorcy Cancer Center has been renovated to create a comfortable, soothing environment where patients can receive their treatment. Specialized nurses provide infusion services for adult and pediatric patients over the age of 4.

      Pulmonary Rehabilitation at St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center is a 12-week evidence based program designed for people with chronic lung disease like COPD, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, asthma, interstitial lung disease or lung cancer. Pulmonary rehab helps people with moderate to severe breathing problems overcome physical limitations resulting from their disease and aims to improve quality of life.

      Each patient's program begins with a comprehensive pulmonary evaluation by clinical experts in pulmonary rehabilitation. Through a carefully planned, integrated and individualized program of supervised physical conditioning, exercise, and educational and nutritional counseling, physical capacity is increased and the patient is empowered to overcome their shortness of breath.

      The Diabetes Health Center at St. Mary-Corwin offers both inpatient and outpatient diabetes education. Our center has been educating the Pueblo Community for more than 25 years.       Wound & Hyperbaric Center

      St. Mary-Corwin’s Wound & Hyperbaric Center, managed by Healogics, Inc., provides specialized treatment for chronic or non-healing wounds, which are defined as sores or wounds that have not significantly improved from conventional treatments.  Associated with inadequate circulation, poorly functioning veins, and immobility, non-healing wounds lead to lower quality of life and may lead to amputations.

      Sleep Disorders Center

      The Sleep Disorders Center provides a comfortable, hotel-like private room setting for the sleep study. We'd like you to bring the comforts from home including your favorite pillow and comfortable sleepwear. Each room has a television for your relaxation. What's more, our staff will treat you with kindness and compassion... every step of the way. Your comfort is important to us.

      We individual appointments with a trained sleep educator or sleep technologist to answer your questions or discuss your overall health and your quality of sleep. People with sleep apnea are invited to participate in AWAKE, a national sleep disorders support group.

      Nutrition Therapy

      Medical nutrition therapy is provided by registered dietitians; the most qualified healthcare provider, with specialized training in food and nutrition. Our professionals help people set realistic and achievable nutrition goals, create customized food plans and develop lifelong strategies for healthy eating. MNT helps individuals improve their overall health and quality of life by reducing disease complications, reducing or eliminating the need for prescription drug use and decreasing hospital admissions.

      Palliative care is provided by a team of professionals that offer coordinated care to address a patient’s physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs, and help them cope with the pain and anxiety that come with major health changes.       The Pediatrics unit has been nationally recognized for their high patient satisfaction. This is due to the loving, caring relationships that are built between your child and our dedicated staff. We focus our attention on your child's health, and getting them back to 'being a kid' again.

      Pediatric-certified, experienced staff provide total inpatient care for medical, surgical, orthopedic and chronic conditions for infants, children and young adults through age 18 in our secure pediatric unit.
