Immunization & screening requirements
  • Documentation must be provided to assure that the student is compliant with CommonSpirit Health Polices. Students are responsible for all costs related to the health requirements.
  • Blood titers can be utilized for proof of immunity for MMR, Hep B, & Varicella.
  • Immunizations and/or lab work and drug screening must be completed after admission to your EMS program and documentation must be provided prior to signing up for any clinical rotations.
  • Submission deadlines will be provided once the courses are seated.
  • Students not complying with the requirements or failing to meet the submission deadlines will not be allowed in the clinical areas and may be subject to dismissal from the course.
  • Required immunizations &/or lab work may be completed by your physician or health care provider of your choice.

  • COVID Vaccination or submission of medical or religious exemption (form swill be provided)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) - individuals born on or after 1957 will need documentation of 2 measles vaccinations
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
  • Tuberculosis testing (PPD current within the past year or Quantiferon TB blood test) - if you have tested positive for TB, you will need proof of successful follow up treatment
  • Hepatitis B vaccine - 3 shot series, must have received at least 1st shot
  • Seasonal flu vaccination – is required November 1st – March 31st
  • Drug Screen/eScreen with synthetics
